1. Cameron Park Zoo

Make your next visit to the zoo an adventure. Get a map when you enter the zoo and check off each stop. Take time to read each information plaque and board, and explore each exhibit. Make sure you check the zoo's website ahead of time and see if there are any special events coming up.

2. Dr. Pepper Museum

A must visit spot in Waco is definitely the Dr. Pepper museum. Take a tour and don't forget to enjoy a Dr. Pepper float at the end of your tour!

3. Movie and Dinner Date

Who doesn’t love going to see a movie? Remember, if you go to a matinee, it’s less than $6 a person. Always grab something to eat before heading to the movies to save money.

4. Picnic at the Park

Make some sandwiches at home, pack them up along with a blanket and go have lunch at the park. You can play on the playground together or even hit up the splash pad on hot summer days.

5. Magnolia Market and The Silos

Go window shop and play on the grass turf while grabbing a bite to eat at one of the many food trucks.

6. Bowling or Skating

Find a bowling alley or skating ring near you and visit their website before you go. They often have special events and specials going on.

7. Racing and Rides

Waco Lions Park and Kiddieland is a fun place to visit that won’t break the bank.

8. Mayborn Museum

If you live in or around Waco, get a membership to the Mayborn Museum. When you arrive get a map and give your child the task of finding a certain area on their own. Let them ask questions and enjoy every display at their own pace.

9. Visit Lake Waco and go Fishing

There's just something about fishing that is so relaxing. Catch and release or take it home and cook a meal together.
